The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced $65 million in funding for 38 separate awards spanning 10 quantum computing projects. The DOE aims to support research to tap quantum computing’s ability to quickly solve large complex science problems that classical computers cannot.
India is nearing completion of its first small-scale quantum computer at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai. The project is part of India’s National Quantum Mission, with plans to develop a 24-qubit computer in three years and a 100-qubit system in five years.
